The Cuda 3" Net Knife is purpose built for cutting through nets of all shapes and sizes. Boasting a full-tang construction and German 4116 titanium bonded stainless steel blade, it will take thousands of cuts before the edge even approaches becoming dull, and the resistance to rust and corrosion it provides is matched by few materials. The serrated edge of the Net Knife further enhances the applicable power per cut as well, increasing the breadth of cuttable net materials it can handle. Complete with an included sheath with water drainage hole, the only thing you will have to worry about is what net needs to be cut. There will be no corrosion, rust, or edge-loss to stand in your way with the 3" Net Knife in your tacklebox or on your person.

Handy utility knife
Just received a Cuda 3" Titanium bonded net knife last week and had an opportunity to use it over the weekend for yard projects. Excellent cutter. It cut twine, plants and branches like a razor. I decided to try it carving on a piece of cypress and found the shallow serrated edge to work excellent. With some flex to the blade I found it to be efficient and adaptive. Came in the house and rinsed it off and it looked new. Great little utility knife!

Great little bait knife! Live that the blade will not rust so I can leave it on the boat and not worry about it rusting and staining my boat. It looks great next to all my other cuda tools. Cuda Net Knife
As many know, hurricane Matthew arrived this week in Florida. I used my net knife to cut rope for tie downs on both boats. Knife worked flawlessly cutting thru 1/2 inch and 1 inch rope. Unfortunately the rain was coming down so i could not take any actual photos or video cutting in real time on the boat dock. Knife was solid in feel, rubber grip held up well with a no slip grip in the down pouring rain. I would have preferred a knife 4 inch or greater. Thought the 3 inch was to small of a length for me personally. I also felt that the knife blade itself was a bit on the thin side both in girth and thickness yet it performed above my satisfaction. I have very large hands and they knife kind of disappeared in my hand making me feel like i had a toy knife. With normal sized hands that would not be an issue.
The major issue for me personally was the blade sheath. It is made out of a hard plastic. I like a sheath made of webbing material. The knife holds very tight within the plastic sheath without any lock strap or similar.

Sharp, light and handy
Great little knife for your tackle box. While primarily intended for net work, I find it useful for light line trimming after rigging leaders or other times when a small, thin sharp blade is needed.

Small, light, and sharp.
This little guy is SHARP. Generally, I get something, and I try a few basic performance tests so I can see what I am dealing with, and see how it will perform when I go to use it for something. If it performs as expected, I walk away satisfied, and put it away until I need it for whatever it's purpose is. If it doesn't perform, I either throw it out or take it back.
If it performs unexpectedly well, I have a propensity to see just HOW exceptional it is. Generally, this means doing things that are usually outside its normal scope of duty, and occasionally even best prefaced with "Hold my beer and watch this." This is one of those items, so hold my beer...
I did some basic research on the knife, specifically the blade steel. This is intended for use in wet and possibly even marine environments, so you would expect a quality stainless. We dont really have any prime marine coastline here in Ohio, so I can't speak to that aspect of the knife, but the steel is full tang german 4116 stainless.
What that really means: 4116 stainless is a proprietary steel made by ThyssenKrupp in Germany. Generally, it is used for hygienic applications in the medical, pharmaceutical, or food processing fields. The ratio of chromium to carbon content in the blade gives it a very high resistance to corrosion, and the other alloying elements give it high blade edge retention and durability, according to folks that have tested it. These aforementioned testers indicate that it performs superior to 420 and 440 series stainless, which make up a lion's share of knife blades in the stainless variety.
The addition of the titanium bonding can only improve these aspects.
Now, on to performance. It is comfy, light, has a textured grip to help avoid slipping, the serrations are more than adequate for sawing through rope without being too aggressive, the plastic sheath locks the blade in securely while still allowing quick access, it'll attach to your belt, and its small enough to be precise. There are some tasks that you can definitely have too much knife for, and when you have too much knife it has a nasty way of finding a way to bite you.
Any reasonable fibrous material you put in front of this thing is getting sliced. It even slices through paper like nothing.
My only real complaints are:
That it doesn't float, which I didn't expect it to anyway, but it would be nice...
It has no hole for a lanyard. It has some mystery hole just under the blade, which possibly could be for a lanyard, I guess. But it would not be very ergonomic to have a lanyard there.
Otherwise, this knife is exactly what you want for something called a net knife. Especially at this price point. Whoa. You'll be able to give this to your grand kids.

how is this knife sharped
Hi Charles,
Thanks for your question! This is a serrated knife so you would want to avoid using any kind of pull through sharpener. Your best bet would be to use a rod designed for sharpening serrated tools. You can check out the selection at dmtsharp.com. Hope this helps!
