Rated 4 out of 5 by Beach Ghost from Great knife, good sheath, weak clip Thus is a handy little special purpose blade. It's dual cutting edges provide ambidextrous utility. It's finger-slotted grip enables many different gripping options. The sheath is well designed and allows for attaching a lanyard between knife and sheath. The rotating clip is a weak point and is my only complaint. It is easily detached, due to the weak split pivot point, that in theory should spread into the locking grooves and hold sheath tight to a belt or strap. I can envision this little blade not just in use by surface fishermen but I see it as a great little tool for divers and snorkeleers diving wrecks with fishing line entanglements.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rockysan from Nice product I got this for review and used it for several days. It is sharp and the carry clip was nice. I used it primarily to cut string and cordage. In that use it worked well. I didn't have opportunity to cut anything heavier than paracord, so I can't comment on its ability to cut rope. The build quality is decent. The handle has rubber on the edges. The sheath and belt clip are plastic. I'm not sure of its long term durability. Having said that it is a nice product and usefulbin an environment where you can't carry a knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chuck from Handy little knife ! I have attached it to my fishing vest, used it once when I got fly line tangled in some trees. My daughter found another use for it, she braids para cord constantly and found a better way to cut the cord safely with this knife. Now the knife has disappeared from my vest.

what is yhe use of this khife?
Hello and thanks for the question. The Cuda Rescue/Safety Knife is intended to be worn on your PFD for quick and easy access in an emergency. Both sides of the blade are serrated so you simply quickly grab the knife handle and pull it away from the sheath and then you can use the knife to cut away rope or lines in which you may be tangled or you need to cut quickly for some other reason. Hopefully, this information helps explain the purpose. Thanks! The Cuda Team

I spearfish in the Gulf of Mexico, and many times will use steel cable on my gun. What thickness cable would I be able to cut through with this? Is there another version that is specifically for cable?
Hi, Our rescue/safety knife is designed to cut line and will not cut steel cable. Depending on the thickness of the steel cable you are trying to cut, you may find success with our cutters #18827 or our hook cutter #18178. Thanks for the question! Regards, The Cuda Team

I am thinking of adding these to my inflatable PFDs. Will this knife be able to cut a tether under load?
Hi, Thanks for your question. The rescue knife should be able to cut a tether under load, this is the purpose of the knife however, it's difficult to confirm for sure without knowing the tether's thickness, width or the full weight of the actual load. We hope this helps but please let us know if you have further questions. Regards, The Cuda Team

How thick of rope is it designed to cut? Will it cut 3 strand 1/2 nylon anchor line?
Hi Brian, We believe it will cut this type of line but we cannot say for sure since we have not tested this specific strand. Wish we could be more specific but until we test 3 strand 1/2 nylon anchor line, we cannot make this claim. Thanks for your question! The Cuda Team
